Number 24: Vánoční trhy Praha | Prague Christmas markets

Vanocni trhy, Praha, Christmas market, Old Town Square, Prague, Czech Republic

“Vánoční trhy Praha” or the Prague Christmas markets are held in various locations throughout the city, including Old Town Square. As expected, December weather can turn cold with the formation of icicles. Here, icicles, light fixtures, and a “starred filter” combine for a bright sparkly photograph. The sign behind the ice and lights is for a stand selling “Palačinky” or thin pancakes. In the background at right in soft out-of-focus light appears one of the towers for the Church of our Lady Before Týn. I wrote about Prague’s Christmas markets at Old Town Square here and here.

I made the photo on 4 December 2010. This post appears on Fotoeins WIDE at fotowide.wordpress.com.
