Number 17: an evening in the garden square, San Miguel de Allende
A relatively warm evening means people are out and about to enjoy the good weather: to catch up with friends over beer or wine, to get a bite to eat, to catch local musicians play live. There’s a lot of familiarity compared to similar towns around the world. What’s different here in San Miguel de Allende is the beautiful architecture, the area’s historical and cultural importance to México, and the vibrant jovial spirit emanating from residents and visitors. San Miguel de Allende was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2008. In their Readers’ Choice Awards, Condé Nast Traveler readers put San Miguel de Allende as their top city for 2013. I made a number of photos which you can find here.
I made this photo on 3 March 2012. This post appears on Fotoeins WIDE at fotowide.wordpress.com.
