While the hawker centre and food variety are famous throughout the region if not the world, the Asian city-state of Singapore also hints of opulence by day or night. There’s no greater sign of this than a visit to the Marina Bay Sands hotel by the Singapore River. Built on reclaimed land, the hotel and surrounding properties have helped revitalize this part of the waterfront district. A ride on the elevator up to the roof provides an unobstructed view of the city. The photo above is the night view from Ku Dé Ta, SkyPark at the top of Marina Bay Sands, down towards the British colonial Fullerton Hotel next to the Marina Bay Reservoir and Boat Quay.
I made this photo on the rooftop of the Marina Bay Sands in Singapore on 4 July 2012. This post appears on Fotoeins Wide at fotowide.wordpress.com and is a part of #TPThursday for Budget Travelers Sandbox.
